Has anyone else recieved .....

Ok, listen to what my service advisor just told me about the Hesitation issue. He said that they contacted Mazda an opened a case number for the problem. He also said Mazda is aware of the problem and working on a new map to flash the PCM? And if not that they would be replacing the ECU Replacing it with what? Replacing a programmable unit, hummm. Im not sure how this will change anything. He also said that they had a similar problem with the Miatas which still has not been corrected. Here is where it gets weird, he also said that my car was running too lean. Ok, If Im running lean shouldnt I fell some sort of detonation???? Could our hesitation issues be detonation? I dont think so cause my engine would have fried the pistons & rings by now. WTF, I wash that s*** every weekend and the amount of carbon that builds around my exhaust tip in one week suggests that its running too rich. When I told him this , he oh well maybe he did say rich. BS, I wonder if these guys have a clue as to what there doing. As for the sub, they are installing it today. The power window got a new plastic rain guard of some sort. All I know is I sure feel like someone has been blowing smoke up my ass this morning. Has anyone else recieved an explanation of this kind from Mazda?

:wtf: :bs: (uhm) (direct) :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs:

ask him for the mazda case number specifically I want to email mazda to see if this is true

Our cars are equipped with knock sensors, if the computer detects pre detonation, it should pull timming. I don't think anyone here believes our cars are running lean. Yea, every week I clean the black soot out of my exhaust pipe when I wash the car. Lean my ass!

One of the tricks we do with the Ford 2.3L turbo motors is disconnect the knock sensor. With those motors, the valve train noise would trigger the knock sensor, making the computer think the motor was pinning, thus pull timming.

Damn, I forgot, that was one of the things I was going to do on my msp to see if that's what is causing the mid rpm stumble.

hmm.. all I know is my car hesitates like a b**** in 2nd gear.. not always,, but enough to piss me off.... I would complain to the dealership, but it appears to be doing no good.. I think we should complain to a higher source... i.e. Mazda USA.... wouldnt that do better? I mean,, the dealer mechanics can only do so good, they didnt design or build the car... we need to talk to more high up people

Here is my case # 301434, he said it contains part of the VIN # . Im not sure cause My car is in the shop so I cant check. Anyhow he said its ready, Im picking it up today at 5:30.

I just called my service guy, and he said that he would need to "road test it" and have the vehicle near by so that when he calls Mazda, they can tell him what to do...

:bs:

Damn it:bs:

My turbo 323GT had a knock sensor too, but I could still make the engine pre detonate by raising the boost to high. Ping, Ping, Ping.

A lot of us have already written Mazda about this problem including myself, only to receive the same generic answer.

This is what I did about my Stalling; went right to the Manager of Mazda Canada's consultants. The dealership can only do so much..

LMFAO a stock Protege running lean? I don't think that has ever happened. That's a good one. :D
