Had a Blowout with my Dealer Today!!!

I went to take my car in for it's second oil change today. I pull up, tell the guy I need a oil change, give him the keys and go into the waiting room. He proceeds to get into my car, rev the engine up ( I have a JIC exhaust), and keeps revving it. He then pulls the car out of the bay and take off out of the dealership. I then hear him rip out of the parking lot and go around the corner. At this point I'm really pissed off, but wasn't going to say anything till my oil change was finished. While I'm waiting I started talking to the guy I bought my car from. He asked me how the car was, and I mentioned the "clunk", and the dreaded "hesitation". He told me to talk to the guy in the service area because, he's a "master". Well the guy, who just took my car for a joy ride comes out and acuses me of modifying the suspension, and it's bottoming out. I explained to him that it was something to do with the sway bar. He rolled his eyes at me!!!! The salesman tells me to ask him about the other problem, but I told him I rather wouldn't since he didn't look to enthused about my other problem. The service guy, then laughs and leaves. I wait like 5 min, and go outside by my car. There was 4 guys standing around my car looking at the engine. They told me about the suspension, and then I mentioned about the hesitation. This a-hole salesman goes, "well the hesistation is from that exhaust". He thought the injen inatke was part of the exhaust.:wtf: . I go, "NO NO NO, it has nothing to do with the intake. He said "I really wish you wouldn't taklk to me like that, I'm not disrespecting you, and if you continue to do it I won't talk to you. I told him I never came in to talk to him anyways, and that I didn't want to talk to him. He saidsomething along the lines of voiding my warranty, and that they couldn't work on my car. He then handed me my keys and told me to leave. I said great, and went to another dealership, where they were happy to see me, and knew about the primadonnas at the other place.
This dealership has given me nothin but hell since I boought my car. The only reason why I went there was they gave me 3 free oil changes, because they screwed me over. The new dealership I went to was cool, and the service guys said that they couldn't void anything unless they can prove that the part caused the problem. I told him I understand completely.
I'm writing Mazda a letter regarding this terrible service. For no reason, should the service goombah's take my car for a joyride, when it's there to get a oilchange. ARGGGGGHHHH!!!!!

The mechanics at my dealer love my car. They're happy to answer any question I have, and they actually encourage me to mod my car.

"It's a shame more people don't hook these little cars up." is what I heard last time I was there.

Ditto at my dealer. :D

The funny thing is, the salesman was telling me how they are going to start modding cars, and it will keep the warranty. Well I saw what type of modding they do. There was a poor orange msp with green graphics, green neons, altezzas, and a t.v. that was installed in the ceiling.

I'm sorry to hear this tewkes....

Damn. That's why I'll never let those guys take my car and change the oil while I drop it off. I"ll have to wait there as well. Give them a -5 for a service dept. and customer service when you write to Mazda...

That'll teach em! :D

Burn EM!

I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER let those factory cocks touch my car unless it is something I can't do myself. If some **** drove my car like that I would have the GM's ass on the showroom screaming like a coked up psychotic banshee.
I hate to hear about these horrible experiences you guys have had. These dealer Techs are the ass-end of mankind. They are like genetic defects that clump together in the colon of society. Ass tumors of humanity if you will.
The letters would ensue from places so legal to the dealer and Mazda; then I would raise unholy hell.

Not over the driving mind you but over any of this other mess concerning refusal to honor the warranty.

I've seen that car - they have another dealership in Woodhaven by me. It's hideous! I'll try to get some pics ...

On a side note, the one by me has a pretty cool service manager. He even agreed to install my Spool's for me (for $400, which i talked him down to $250 but ended up doing them myself). As long as I understood they weren't warrantied - duh.

Which dealer is that?

I bought mine from Cardinale in Salinas, and I've had nothing but regrets about it since... There is NO way they're touching my car again...

The local dealer here in Monterey is also useless, and I didn't want to waste the drive to Capitola unless it was worth it...

you should try and change your own oil for the sake of using synthetic and just plain getting to know the car better

I agree...it's the best way to learn.

Oh, I will be doing my own oil changes from here on out. But I had free oil changes, and I felt like I had to use them.

After that i would knock his ass out! That is TOTAL bulls***!

Im glad you had another dealer to go to.

after all the mods done to my car my dealer hasnt voided my warranty even tho i know for a fact they should :D i <3 them

man. i am very sorry to hear about that.. i know i'd be pissed and shitting bricks too. i'm lucky to have a great dealership. they've helped me with a lot of stuff. i even have a parts guy and my salesman currently looking for a bra (to use on trips b/c i now have 5 chips on the lower end of my hood from rocks when i went to TN last week) they are always encouraging me to ask questions and improve my car. glad to hear you found a dealership that cares! make sure you let mazda know how shity the other one is though.

I hate to be the devils advocate but your slight hesitation could be being caused by the Injen Air Intake and or JIC free flowing aftermarket exhaust. Just remember it is your job to prove them wrong, if they warranty the repair and MazdaUSA Finds out that your car has been modifed they will not cut the dealer a re-imbursement check. Apparently this dealer has been burned already. As for the clunking? Has your car been lowered? :)

I can't believe the service guys took your car out for a spin. Another board member actually had the same experience, I believe. It reminds me of that scene in Ferris Bueler's Day Off. WTF. When they rode around in your car, you should have complained right away and get that dude in trouble.

I know you're playing devil's advocate, but for geez! :p

To argue the points here (if someone else has this problem just use these answers)

The intake will not cause hesitation because it provides freer flow in a restricted system. If they can't agree with that, then they don't deserve to be working on cars. The exhaust is cat/axle back (i believe), so it will minimally affect flow on the rear because it's after the restrictive sections (crap DP and 2 cats!) And yes the car is lowered...from the factory, with crap components that were not spec'd by racing beat, because Mazda cheaped out.

Follow up this explanation with "NOW FIX MY DAMN CAR....b****!"
:D

That's one of the worst dealer stories I've heard..time for some bricks through the showroom window..
