Guage pod installation locations

I was just wondering if anyone had installed there guages any where besides the steering colum and the piller.

I am looking to install one here in the next couple of days, but I dont like the idea of spending more for the mounting equipment than I do for the actual part going into it.

Thanks for the help.

I think you may have to make a custom mount and maybe go to the left of the fuel gauge. I really like the top of the steering colum. It's costs $$ for custom special fit parts.

yeah, I was thinking about trying to slide a guage into the center console where the flip down compartment is located. But I would have to fab up some back plate design and take the door off of it..

Yea and I have seen some installs like that and they look like s***...IMO. Plus the gauge is way out of your line of site.

Do you think these look like s***?

The top one looks nice, the bottom one looks like my 2 month old cut the silver plastic above the temp controls.

I like the 20 psi oil pressure in the second pic.

I dont think it would be to hard to make. Just get some plastic like you would use installing a radio, and start cutting. I was just worried about the guages not fitting behind everything. Ill have to take a look this weekend and see if I can't come up with anything.

For now, I was hoping to install a Air/Fuel, and a Boost guage. Just depends on how much it would cost me for the equipment to mount them somewhere :)

Here are the actual gauges I wanted to get.

There nothing to flashy, but I have never been much for making things stand out. I think it attacts attention to the car, and to much attention can be bad sometimes.

Well this is where I installed mine. I like how it looks. But many people have mounted them on the A pillar. Welcome to the forums BTW

Is that your car? If so what did you hook the OIL PRESS gauge up to???

I want to put gauges in soon and want to know where to tap into before I buy any.

Thanks

Yeah, I really like the way the pillar guages look, I just dont have that much money at the time being to do it. But down the line, I will have the pillar mount.

Thanks for the welcome!

eh.. there you go! Anyway I do alot of track driving, and I was under the impression that if I had my gauges mounted on the A pillar that they would get in my visibility. But I really dont find that to be the case at all. The only issue for me is having to shift my focus between the two gauges. Just some info.
