So to make this short, my dad gives me a piece of paper with red letters that was on the door. I got wrote up by the city for having a 66 mustang outside covered with a tarp. It said primered car is inoperable must repair or remove in 14 days or you will be charged a felony! Now isn't this some bull s***! I hate how as time goes by the government is getting harder on people who love to work on cars! Where has freedom gone, everything is getting so controlled now a days. Tell me what you think.

felony is harsh man, i have got the little orange stickers that never come off on a few cars but the most the will do here is impound it tell you pay

That shouldn't be felonious. Is it in a neighborhood with a homeowners association that specifies a vehicle like that shouldn't be there?

Sounds bogus....ask the city or find out the laws online. But this is not a felonious crime by any means

hmm is the house you live in being rented? I know at the house we rent out the guy had a boat outside (which is against the law if you are renting a home) and he had to have it removed. So it may be something similar to that. If your are not renting the home though I've got nothing.

Yeah I didnt mean felony, just citation but it's stupid so I'm just gonna put it in the garage left it out winter to put my brothers 370z and my other brother lightning. Hopefully well get this mustang rebuilt this summer.

haha felony and citation are 2 wildly different things. most city ordinances do not permit an inoperable car (ie a dead car on the side of the road) parked on the street/curb side. out in the county/country they wouldnt care if the dead car had wildlife and vegetation growing in it. just garage it or keep it in the driveway. driveway is personal property, curb is usually city property.
