I know bench racing is gay, but im just curious, which one is faster? I saw a race in streetfire, but meh...lame.

A friend just got the IS350 which is exceptionally nice, except it only comes in auto...again...gay. Now he's threatening me with it. I know they run 14s flat, an occationally 13.7s, but let me hear your opinions.

is the new g35 coupe faster than the g35 sedan?

Sorry to flood you with questions. Too lazy to start multiple threads.

I forgot what magazine it was (C&D or Motortrend) but they did a comparison. The IS350 ran like a 13.4 and the new G35 sedan ran like a 13.8 or 9. I think it'll be a good race.

The new G35 sedan is running something like 5.2 to 60, while the new IS350's are running 5.1 to 60. I don't really know the quarter times, but i think the G sedans are doing high 13's while the IS350s are flat 14s or high 13s. I think the IS350s don't have as good of top end as the G35's do.

Stock 2006 IS350 1/4 mile times

"Supposedly" stock 2007 IS350 with sports package

I'm not sure I believe that 2007 1/4 time.... especially since the guy listed he's running 19 inch wheels, and they don't exactly come 19s stock......unless I read wrong..... they should be 18s at most, plus from the pic you can see they're not the factory wheels.

To top that off, I've seen a video on streetfire of a stock GT (v8 making 300 hp) and a stock IS350 (v6 making 300 hp) and they were pretty much neck and neck......so to give you an idea, i would say the new is350s would be about the same as running a stock new model GT

some more goodies for you

Mazdaspeed6 running a mazdaspeed CAI.......

Supposedly I've read/heard that the intakes don't make much of a difference....

but the BEST part is this..........

Mazdaspeed3 running 13.029

just look at all the mods on the car... the garret GT3076R boosting to 22 psi (that turbo is good to 26), full exhaust... downpipe, midpipe, etc.....
a v-band output module........ it brings a tear to my eye that the speed3 can run low 13s..... and I can only imagine what the speed6 could do with such mods........(bow)

the only gripe I have about that turbo is it has an internal wastegate, and I would much prefer external....

yeah, but that Speed3 is running on DRs. Give a Speed6 with the same mods some DRs and its running high 11s/low 12s.

But yeah, there's all kinds of drivers, it depends, just like the Speed6s drivers that cant go pass 14.5 and the ones that hit average high 13s. I consider myself sufficiently experienced lol. Now, my friend sucks at driving (a girl bleh) but it will be her BF whos gonna do the racing probably, since he used to race those fast go-karts (w/ the paddle shifting and everything) that go mad fast, and he owns a moddified 04 STi. Yay for me. LOL. I still think I can beat his ass. We have raced before in Juan Pablo Montoya's Opa-Locka Track, and he came in first and I came in 4th by not much. Im not cocky, but lets just say I consider myself a pertty decently good driver.

I'll let you guys know how it went.

Any chance I can get in the festivities and watch? LOL, I'll even bring my digital camera if you want some video ;)

But seriously though I'd like to drive out and see how it goes.... her is350 is bone stock? and Automatic right? you have the benefit if you're doing the deal from a dig.... the AWD and the launch... since auto's can't really rev high to launch (i've tried in every auto car I've owned). I'd probably lose, I still need to get the high launching down, not really any place I know of to practice, but I'm good with my shifting and shift points, and I've already raced a friend's RSX from a roll (he was talking ca-ca and said he could take it from 40 mph, so I gave him the "vtak" benefit rev range).

[edit]

as far as I know he only has intake, although he probably has an exhaust too, cause it doesn't look "Stock"

yeah, the IS350 is auto...they dont come in manual...what a was of a car. Its like finding out Angelina Jolie has a shlong.

But, yeah, I will race her both ways just to see. On a track of coarse. :D

I believe the dragway is closer and will save you much gas (which you will be burning durning racing)
