Fuel Pump

for more boost...more fuel is needed...for more fuel...a better fuel pump..does it need to be a specific type..is there a certain type that is better...please shed some light oin this matter.

At this point we really need a reprogrammed ECU with bigger injectors and at that point the stock pump will be fine. Most of the fuel pumps can exceed 8 PSI of boost worth of fuel but then again are engines should not be exposed to much more.

you can't run bigger injectors yet. The problem is the stock ECU has way to much control overthe car and it has to be hacked. FM is currently working on it. Other then that you can do a totaly stand alone system like Spoolin but you'd better really know what your doing.

The primary problem with running bigger injectors on the stock ecu is that whenever you increase the size of the injectors by more than 10% you destroy the driveability of the car (poor idle ect). Since you have increased fueling and are unable to trim fuel out like at idle where you do not need extra fuel your car will drive like ass. As far as fuel pumps go, its not a bad idea to upgrade and inline fuel pumps are just fine such as MSD, vortech and walboro to name a few. If you want the best pump money can buy bosch would have to take top honors

Our plug n play pre-tuned system will allow for 10psi operation and it's recommended to get an additional inline so that the stock pump does not get maxed out.

The Spool Man is correct. WShade accually had a Pierburg put on his car for testing purposes, and found that before the pump, the needle on the Fuel Pressure Gauge would wobble like hell around 80 PSI. After the pump, he had to trim the fuel back, because it would hold steady at 90 PSI!! The inline will help to give you stable fuel pressure under boost. (thumb)
