mazda protege 2.0
hi everibody

ive got the fsze ecu and now i want to know how to plug it

i have a mazda protege 2.0l 2002 manual and i need to plug my obd2 in that ecu obd1

i need help thanks for response

Im not sure how plugging an FS-ZE ECU to an FS-DE (which Im assuming you have) would go...Give us some more info brotha so we know where to start

i almost the motor the only thing i need is wich wires i need to replace or move to plug the ecu in my car to transform my car in obd1

Search around the site, Im sure people have done the swap and wiring and put up tutorials or how-to's on how to do it. Good luck

Do you have the fsze motor? I can't decipher what's going on here. But how would you run a fsze ecu with an fsde motor? As far as I know you cant......if that's the case. If not don't mind my post.

Which is why I asked :)

The FS-ZE uses a completely different crank trigger wheel to the USDM FS-DE.

I think hes saying he has the ECU and is about to have the motor, and is asking how to wire it. But Im not even sure if he has the FS-ZE wiring harness.

yes that right i'm gonna have the motor and i have the ecu so after a complete week of research i don't find how to wire !! it's the began of a big headache!!! (and i contact focus and he can't help me) sorry for the english i'm learnig and i'm on the good way :D

Not trying to give you bad news...but almost everything you are doing is going to be custom. been around this forum for 11 years, and not sure i've ever seen someone finish a full FSZE obd-I conversion without some very major things...that they simply gave up on later...

First...try to find a factory service manual for an FS-ZE equipped car...it will no doubt be in japanese, so after you get it...find someone that can help you translate it. I'm not kidding about that, you need to know all kinds of information about the sensors for the OBD-I ecu...its very unlikely that all your triggering sensors from the OBD II system will plug right in to your obd-I system...

also...do you just have the OBD-I ecu? or do you also have the harness?

I know you're probably already invested with this...but its just going to get more and more complicated from here out...the JDM cars use a different gauge cluster harness...you will have NO gauge information of any kind until you acquire or custom make that harness...

honestly...at least consider a standalone computer...and just sell off the JDM ecu. You'll be starting with a system that can adapt to your situation, as apposed to having an engine computer that is forcing you to use very specific sensors...that are impossible to find outside of Japan. It'll be another $1000, but you should be able to get a couple hundred for that ecu (OBD-I 2nd gen probe owners are always after them)...and you'll be starting from a much more realistic situation.

If there has ever been a post that probably broke somebodies heart, it is this.

"phildough" on astina gt had the conversion done with another member and mechanic "maztech" he went from 1.8 fp-de to 2.0L fs-ze mazdaspeed familia engine and all is running strong with no issues other then destroying f series transmissions which was cured with g series swap.

Link to his build thread? I want to see what task you think you are about to pull off.

OBD conversions are a lot harder than you think. I just completed my V6 swap, I know all too well.

http://www.astina gt.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=253 best i could find but the conversion has already been done, the aussie 1.8s are also different to the us fs-de but i don't know how, better off messaging phildough as he has more knowledge on the swap is all i'm saying.

Aren't they already obd1?
