front brake replacement

hello,
im working on my front brakes, but same hex screw i used for the rear wont fit in the front in removing the caliper pin. i have a 7mm and i used a 5/32 for the rear.

it says 8mm (5/16 is same as 8mm so either will work)

rears are 7mm and i knew that off hand because 7mm seems like an odd size to me(think its just me) but could not remember fronts
