Ford for thought

When better Fords are built ,Mazda will build them
When safer Fords are built ,Volvo will build them
When you thinks about this and realize that Ford owns control in both these car manufacturers . the above statement is very ironic . :confused:

hey, every company has their shitboxes.. ford just has more of them... what about the stang? new marauder (wow), licoln, explorer (one of the best FUNCTIONAL 4X4.... the tires were NOT their fault)... but hey, thats my opinion.....

let the flame war begin,..............

I didn't want to start a flame war .Its just that Ford has its hands in alot of other car companies .
Other car companies : GM and Toyota ,Nissian and Renault ,Crysler and Mercedes,Porche and Mitsubisi (Porche used Mitsu's counter rotating shafts in their 944 engine ) This are some of the ones I have found ,I am sure there are others .
So please don't make thissa flame war ,Why not post combinations of shared companies instead. Malcolm

FWIW Ford owns controling shares in Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin. Not to mention Lincolin and Merc.

I thought Prosche used a similar/same design to the balancing device for the big four cylinders they were running in the 944. Use of design was cheaper than trying to develop their own.

In no way were the parts in the Porsche Mitsubishi parts.

StutterC ,you're right ,Porche only used Mitsu's patten for the counter rotating shafts ,no Mitsu parts were used . From what I read on the 944 engine is it was half a 928 engine and it was cheaper for Porche to pay the patten fee then develop their own systen to balance the 944 engine

It was it's own block, but bascially it was half of the v-8 in size, from the 928. The head was the same as that used on the v-8.

I almost bought a 944 turbo before I got the MP3...I did a lot of research, most of which I vaguely remember. I had dreams of building a car similar to that of the project 944 GRM did last year.

The 944 Turbo coupe is a sweet car...I sat in one...fit like a glove...love the body lines. (thumb)

Did the 944 engine have anything do to with Audi?...not sure why I have this thought...

Nope, total Porsche design...Audi had similar sized engines I believe, but at the time were five cylinder, not four bangers.
