First gen Common rust Areas and Issues

I'm going to look at a first gen protege to replace my 3rd gen (at least until i get it back on the road possibly longer) and I'm wondering what to check out. It was originally a BC car so he says rust is nearly non-existent but I want to know where to look to make sure that thats the case. Also any common issues I should be aware of would be great to know. Its a 91 sedan with the 1.8 sohc.

I have that exact your going to look at and I have 0 rust areas. I had one little tiny bubble along the front windshield toward the top of the windshield on the passenger side of the car. I've had 0 problems with mine, my alternator went 19 years before I had to replace it at about 208,000 miles and the starter is still original. I've replaced the exhaust from the cat back,valve cover gasket, and typical maintenance items but there have been no major issues with the car and i'm up over 220,000 miles now!

I actually already bought the car, its basically rust free everywhere else but we found a big line in the drivers front strut tower post buying it. Planning to try and fix it tomorrow but we shall see.
