Finally got a look at a Tit...anium MSP

:
MSP & MS3
I hope I don't offend any current Titanium owners but the color just didn't impress me. After hearing everyone go on and on about how it's like Jesus Christ encapsulated into a paint job, I was expecting more. Maybe my expectations were too high. I don't know. I will make a note that it was a bit on the cloudy side. I still needed my sunglasses so it couldn't hav been THAT much of a factor. All I know is... when the salesman pointed it to me... I said, "nah, that's not it!" Damn thing just looks "grey" to me. Obvously Titanium sounds a lot better than grey so I can understand the reasoning there but really... GREY??? You people are foaming at the mouth over grey????

Again, I'm not making fun of the Titaniums at all. Obviously the car as a whole kicks ass! But if you ask me, NOTHING compares to the Orange. I DID like the lip of the '03.5 better... (even though it lacks fogs, they're useless anyway) and the rear was "slightly" better... but hardly noticeable. The wheels? Sort've looked like mine... when they're dirty! hahaha I'm sure that'll razz some people but... ok ok!! maybe they're not THAT bad! I DO like how they refelct light... the mirror quality is pretty kick ass actually. Definitely compliments the grey.. I mean Titanium. I don't think they would look NEARLY as good on the Orange... or really, any other car. I saw them on the Yellow and... ugh! Maybe it was the yellow that ruined them.. I don't know.

Anyway.... that's my take! I am now even happier to be the owner of an Orange Speed. Nothing against ANY other color... but for me and my personality type, I LOVE the idea that NO ONE (relatively speaking) has a car like mine. (color wise) That kicks ass!!

Now if only I got the 35% on my tints!!!! D'oh!!!

I wasn't that impressed either. I was expecting some incredible finish. But it just looks like a "Grey Mica."

The car looks best in black. End of story. :D

Hey Chico, you're 25, from Wallingford, and are into cars. Do you know Brian White?

If I got an MSP I would definitively get the orange one. The 2003.5 MSP colors just don't wow me that much.
Now, I saw a Titanium Mazda6 this past monday, now THAT I seriously drooled over. Soooo sweet... :D

Brian White? Don't know him! Should I? LOL I just moved here so... that's probably why.
Ooh, that explains it. No, you don't have to know him :D

Cloudy day.....it's just plain gray.

Look at your orange on a couldy day.....it's just pale orange, almost peach right? Nothing like it is on a cloudy day.

Did you see the silver metallic through it? Probably never on a cloudy day.

I parked next to the orange today while looking at the rx-8 that came into today...1st one, which was silver btw..... everyone looking at the silver wished the rx-8 was titanium instead. Of course, had er all shined up and the sun was beaming at it. The paint on the rx-8 was a huge disappointment side by side with my titanium. Hardly any metallic at all. Between my car and the rx-8, no one even noticed the orange. In all fairness, it wasn't very clean, and I find orange NEEDS to be clean to really look its best.

I think color is just a preference, and personallity thing. You like loud...orange is for you. You like not sticking out like a sore thumb, black and titanium is better. I like all the colors, even the yellow. Can't lose imho.

I just got back from my dealership and they had a titanium Speed and like everyone else I was less than impressed, the only thing I liked about it was the darker finish on the rims, everything else was no good. Don't like the spoiler, the seats are different, and the shifter is like twice as big. Now I am even happier to have my spicy orange!

I'm with you chillinmcmilln... Again, wasn't trying to put down anyone's car. But NewF... come on!!! LOL To say people notice the Titanium more than the Orange is... absurd!! Afterall, like you said, if you want to stand out you get the orange. If you want to blend in you get the Titanium. How could you say people noticed yours more than the Orange at the dealership? Those two points conflict. Anyway... those pics you took the other day looked AWESOME!! THAT is why I went to the dealership in the first place! But, as you said, it has to be a really bright day for the color to come out. As far as my car goes... I think it looks great in any amount of light. Naturally, the brighter the better... but I'm never dissapointed with how it looks. (Even when it's dirty) But that's just me... carry on.

i think that because were a smaller sized town, orange is just too loud for most people here. There's a orange one here that's been for sale for months, and they can't get rid of it.

notcicing orange is one thing. Liking it is another. Sure people say the orange today, but they look at it, give a little chuckle, then look away.

Sorry, but true. Orange is not popular here. Only with the young'ins it is.

:D that's Stacy Kiebler - wrestler

You're right... there is a difference between liking something and noticing it. I'm glad you clarified because that's not what you said before! : ) (If I knew how to do those fancy quotes you guys do I'd do it... instead, here's a cut and paste job)

"Between my car and the rx-8, no one even noticed the orange."

Amazing!! I mean... if they drove by a flipped over minvan on fire would they "notice" it? Minus the minivan and flipped over reference... the orange definitely bears some resemblance to "fire". (lookin at it right now through my office window....) OH HELL YEAH!!! : )

Titanium's cool too man!! Just not quite as cool as orange! hahaha

LOL

I do like orange, heck I ordered one, so I must have liked it. Still has the coolest pearl effect so far.

laterz

Oh, one RX-8 shows up in town, and you would think it was a famous celebrity or something shown up at the dealer due to all the people.

Nice car though......can I have one please?

In titanium of course :)

I don't like the 03.5 either. The front bumper is ugly the back is ugly to the exhaust looks like s*** and that wing gots to go but the rims are tight.

At first I thought AGR had climbed on a ladder to get that angle for the picture seeing as how it's so high up... Then I remembered he's like 8'9"...

Anyway, nice car, AGR.
