First of all, how the heck did StuttersC post ABOVE me as the thread starter?

Second of all, you guys have no faith in these motors whatsoever. Also, keep in mind.. I'm running a T4 turbo that doesn't even reach full boost until about 4500-5000rpm, so when I'm driving around town I'm usually not boosting. If I need the power, I get on the gas and get thrown into the seat. I've considered a T25, but I've kinda gotten use to the way my setup is. Not that a T25 isn't in my future at all, I just like the T4's top end power.

Well, because Spool's Stage 1 kit costs just as much as FIC's
Stage 1 kit and I got just about as much HP as Spool's stage 3 with an intercooler.

I'm working on the intercooler now (funds are scarse this time of year, ya know ;) ) Once that's installed, along with an extra injector, I'll up the PSI to about 12-14, and I'll be good. :D

It's all about safety man. Sure, you may make Spool stage 3 power, but you have to run higher boost to do so, and it's way less safe.

If you ran 12+PSI without engine management, you're just begging for trouble.
I wouldn't even go past 10 unless i had bigger injectors, stand alone management, and reinforced internals.

The only reason I blew my motor that time was because I was doing multiple high speed runs on I-95 against a Gti and an A4. It blew because I was boosting too much at the top end of 5th gear.

Exactly my point...safety and reliability. If you ran a well tuned machine, it shouldn't kill your engine no matter how long and hard you run it. You're silly for running such high boost without the necessities.

Yeha get this he is running 8 psi on a T4 no intercooler AND no extra fuel hows that for ya????? Granted it might run ok now but you are being alot harder on your motor than you should. Slap a FMU on there at least man for christs sake.

I could really care less. It's his car, let him **** it up if he wants. It's only a matter of time until he blows it again. We all know that, so what, maybe he enjoys buying new motors.

if no one pushes the limits, how will we find them?

i remember back in the day (about 3-4 years ago) Supra owners were scared to push 500rwhp on stock motors. with more and more people trying different things, and pushing the limit i know a few of my good friends pushing over 850rwhp on stock pistons/rods.

it's all about experimenting. using a T4 instead of most kits that use a T3 or T28 does help keep the air cooler than most kits. So he may not really need an IC yet. you just can't look at boost numbers, you have to look at what turbo he's using and the efficiancy range of it. if your running a T25 at 12 lbs and a T4 at 12 lbs, i guarantee the air coming out of that T25 is going to be much hotter.

good job Inimical_01ES, ,keep it up!
