I'm sorry if this was already asked somewhere. I tried searching and didn't find anything. I'm looking at some wheels and tires somebody is selling.

Mazda RX7 FD 16 x 8" wheels wrapped in Falken AZENIS RT-615s (225/50R16)
Wheels are 5x114.4 and 50mm offset.

I remember reading somewhere on these boards that the FD wheels are one of the lightest wheels you can get for the MSP. My question is, will that setup fit on my MSP (stock suspension) without rubbing?

LOL...Craigslist FTW...I see what you're looking at...Portland...they look freaking sweet...

I believe some people are using the 225s on the FD rims...on the sedans...this definitely wouldn't fit the P5 tho...

They will fit, I had 225,45r,17 falken azenis when I had rims. Only rubbed in the back if you hit a bump, or if you have people in the back. lol

Oh and don't plan on making turns fast anymore. Atleast while the tires are new. lol

The RX-8 wheels are 18x8 50mm offset and they fit perfectly even on a P5 which has a bit less clearance to the rear fender. I know guys have also done 225's but it may have been a 48mm offset..not sure.

Hrm, worst case I can roll the fenders then. Thanks, I'll go ahead and grab these then. Woot.

Go with 225/45/16's and should be fine at stock ride height. anything lower and you need to roll your fenders
Thats what I'm running.

100% on the rims...they are almost worth the price for the rims alone...almost...njamreka or something runs themm...

try the "other" forum...caturday forum...lol

He's on there and he knows 100%

Hmmm. I might have to go to discount tire and see if they'll give me a discount on some 40's if i trade the 50's in then. We'll see. I'm going to go test fit them on my car sometime this weekend if the guy has time.

Just looked through the threads...looks like 225/45 is what you'd be looking for...with a 3mm spacer...so they would be +47....that's what has been used without any rubbing.

*IF* those FD wheels will fit.

oh, they fit just fine :D

225/45-16 is damn near the exact same size as the stock ES 195/50-16's, and they would fit on FD's with 3mm spacers and a slight fender roll. i just didn't want to touch the fenders, so i ended with 215/45's.

heres a better pic of the orange in the link.. they look good on it, i think he's selling the chrome ones though and powdercoating his other set he has

Just thought I'd give a quick update in case anyone was curious if they fit correctly. I couldn't find 3mm spacers, so I went with 5mm spacers all around. 225/50-16's. No rubbing the fenders, struts, nothing. They fit absolutely perfect.
