Presently using "Back to Black" which doesn't last very long. Looking for a better option. Anyone have experience here? Ed

Maybe try 303 Aerospace Protectant? Though I'm not sure how long that last either since I haven't applied any to my car, just started testing it on my old 1999 Honda CR-V, will report back later. Been about 1 week right now, not sure about the condition of it, only applied to the fender black trims.

I use 303 on the dash board so I may try it on the outside trim but, really looking to keep the black trim black.

I heard good things about back to black. I'm interested to hear what other people will suggest. The black trim on my white CX-5 is certainly starting to fade.

I have to agree Ed. I suggested B-to-B early on here, but it doesn't seem to last AND it doesn't really restore the black color. Seems like something with a bit of black pigment would be better, but I don't know what that would be.

303 here as well. Wouldn't bother with Back to Black as it hardly offers any UV protectants with it's heavy silicone and petroleum based distillates.

Put 303 on the trim and tires 2 weeks ago had torrential downpours last week and a few rainy days and still the trim looks good. Tires may need another coat.

303 did not work for me. It washed off right after 1st rain.

Assuming you're saying that according to visual changes. There shouldn't be any noticeable difference in darkness of the plastic with application of 303... So it didn't exactly wash off completely. The excess was rinsed off, which should have been buffed off in the first place.

Consumer Reports tested some of these products for their May 2014 edition. Their favorites were Wipe New and ReNu Finish. More expensive than other products, but longer lasting than Meguiar’s Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer or Mothers Back-to-Black.

Has anyone considered Plasti dipping or vinyl wrapping there black trim? I figured it would hold up much better with either of those two options.

Seems like everyone is going for appearance instead of functionality... No UV inhibitors, no care.

Just checked on the CR-V today on the 2 small exterior trim I used 303 on. Still looks decent, slowly fading back but still better than before. Today I did the front bumper on the CR-V. Half with Meguiar's Ultimate Black and half with 303. I'll see how that goes in a few weeks.
