Engine swap ideas?

I have a 2001 Protege LX. I wanna do an engine swap but don't want to do the KLZE swap. Are there any motors that are slightly bigger than the 2.0L (preferably still a 4 cylinder), that will fit with a later 2003 MazdaSpeed3 (if I remember correctly these fit and were stronger) auto transmission?

Edit: Would a 2007 Mazda3 2.0L fit? It gives me more power from the start and it looks like it will fit just like the old one. And yes I know I'm gonna need the ECU, Wiring Harness, and maybe a few other things.

Cause even though mt's will handle more abuse. This is still my daily driver. Anyways besides being stronger, and (unless you can find one for an auto), being able to have an lsd. MT's are no better than auto's.

dynos for an auto protege with a 2.0 is like 65 ish whp same motor with a manual is 90-110 plust the manual will hold more power without breaking stuff.whats wrong with having a dd thats a manual anyway?

ya a speed 3 in 2003 or any mazda speed with an auto. or any "real" car with an auto unless its solely for drag an auto is pointless if your looking for power out of a 4 cyl.
