Engine Problems - Need Some Advice!

Whats going on everyone? I need some help. Ok, so the piping that goes from the turbo to the intercooler...well, the joint where that pipe and the blow-off valve connection has snapped. I went to Mazda and the pipe is going to cost me $300. I'm not down with spending that kind of money. Does anyone know any alternatives to help fix this problem without having to spend that kind of money? Or are there any aftermarket mods I can do to fix this problem?

DSMconvert offers cheap mild steel IC pipes. You are still going to pay that much though.

Welcome to the boards.(hi)

Did you do any modifications that would make the pipe break? If not, then they should cover it for you without any hassles because several people have had that problem.

edit - doh, ryoga beat me to it... and you should be answering your PM rather than beating me to that post.:p

No I havent made any mods to it but i'm out of warranty...damn 35000 miles bulls***! I've been looking online and i havent been able to come across anything...maybe i'm just searching for the wrong part. i dont know what the hell to do about this! but its really starting to piss me off.

When something like that happens it is definately a sign from a higher power telling you to get a FMIC:)

Your factory warrantee should be for five years or 50K miles.

I'd love to put FMIC in it...in fact there are plenty of things i want to do to this car but i cant right now cuz i dont have the money...what else is new! but this is something that has to get fixed b4 something worse happens.

(You are talking about that "nipple" piece that comes off the top pipe?)
No problem. I broke mine putting on my Injen intake. Get some "Gorilla Glue" from your local hardware store and glue it back together. That s*** is strong! It held for months before I got my hardpipes. Cost $5.

The "Gorilla Glue" sounds like a good idea...i just dont want to use something thats not going to be able to take the heat. thats my only concern. I've been checking the forums where people are selling off parts so hopefully i can score one from someone.

Like mentioned before you have a 4 year 50,000 mile warranty.

If you are under that mileage you will be able to have that pipe replaced for free.

If it is on hte pressure pipe, he could cause a leak under boost and then start a new thread asking why he lost power...

Yeah i'm only at 40,000 miles but when i looked at the warranty it said 5 yr/35,000 miles...thats whats bugging me...i bought it used from a Acura dealer so maybe thats why is different...i'm just going to have to call Mazda and find out...

Ok so now i have another question...i'm not getting any cold air outta my air conditioning...is this cause of this pipe being busted up or you think there is something else malfunctioning or disconnected or cracked as well? I havent looked under the hood with regards to this new problem...just came across it yesterday.

should be able to call mazda and ask them about warranty, or go by the dealer they can tell you by vin # and mileage
