looks nice.

i like nice leather boots...clean and simple.(and no weird writing haha)

but yeah yours matches with the interior parts, looks alright. how much was it?

haha yeah... i wanna cover that mugen up somehow or scrape it off
that was a bad attempt but it was 5.99 if u get it at the last second and 10 bux shipping

yeah i'd like a simple leather one too but (dunno) this thing was cheapo and although i thought i wouldn't mind much about all that slack from stock boot.. i got tired of it so hey :)

If I may add.... Suede is leather.

All suede is leather, but not all leather is suede.

I don't like it, but everyone on this site disagrees with me. If I say yes, they say no etc.
Maybe I shouldn't call everyone with a CF hood a ricer, but hey I calls em as I sees em.

It wouldn't be that hard to just buy a couple yards of leather, sew it together with a sewing machine and blue thred, and cut and stuff to make a leather one in color of your choice.

i'm sure it would be pretty hard.... at least it would cost a lot to buy the stuff seperately plus the time and effort for starting from scratch without blue print or anything

hey at least i like your car (thumb) prolly my favorite mazda of all time... cept for the color and not the most practical favorite, but besides that it has to be my favorite model

It's not quite THAT easy... :)

Assuming that you get the design right the first time, maybe not too bad. But you have to go from one seam (stock) to four seams, add seam allowances, make sure you retain the same diameter and breadth of the stock boot, etc. Quite a few calculations in there. Then visit multiple upholstery shops until you find the right leather, then find someone nice enough to sell you a small piece instead of a full hide.

Then the sewing...you can't really sew leather effectively with the average WalMart special sewing machine. For the best strength you'll want to use heavy upholstery-weight thread, which of course requires an upholstery sewing machine. And I would never attempt to actually sew something myself--man would the stitching be messy! :)

BTW, nice RX. My little bro drives a dressed-up first gen, carb'd and all. Fun car to drive!

And to not thread-jack completely, that boot looks pretty nice. I like blue stitching. ;)

thanks for the Rx comment in your post but as for the shift boot thing, I really don't think hard when I post, I didn't consider all the factors. I say his boot is ok, for the money.
