Ebay CAI

Install was easy... sound is NICE especially with 7" K&N filter crammed in there.. performance.. meh I dunno I don't really notice, but it's nice and loud.

just installed my ebay cai!

Just got finished installing mine (about an hour and a half ago), and then drove about 20 miles on the freeway...no CEL or anything! Everything seems to work perfectly! (rockon)

Installation was pretty easy. Took me about 2 hours (but I'm a relative dummy when it comes to engines...seriously (braindead ). I printed out a whole bunch of pictures and installation tips from the forum, as well as this installation guide from K&N:

http://www.knfilters.com/typhoon/69-6020.pdf

The pictures are really helpful, and it's pretty step by step. However, you have to drop the K&N instructions a little before halfway through because that's when things get different. But it's great to start you out on your install. (Remember that the mass air sensor is located differently on this K&N guide. The ebay MAS is located on the other side of the pipe like the INJEN cai...)

Good luck to all who decide to go this route! It's a less expensive alternative that acheives the same purpose in the end: to make your engine roar! (drinks)

Just ordered an eBay CAI for my 1.6L '99 LX. I think I am going to need a TON of help once it arrives, so if anyone can be of assistance, that would be awesome.

i got mine on but the couplers look so gay in my engine bay since i have no blue whatsoever ... any where local where i can get it ? or can it only be ordered online ? do speed shops or auto parts stores sell them ?

paint them, for $45 the CAI is not a bad deal, CAI's barely give you any power so the cheaper the better, then you can just buy a K&N cone filter that fits for max air flow, and if you want you can get some decals cut from a local shop that say injen on it and throw them on, you can get cooler hyper black decals and make it look cooler than a real injen LOL or you can stick like type R the intake and get 30 HP

nice jokes lol what kinda paint would be best to use on that ?

I am just wondering if the people that got a liveonspeed CAI got an email telling them their intake was shipped with a tracking number or were you just surprised when it showed up?I had some problems when buying mine, I didn't have a confirmed address on paypal, sent a check, and forgot to write the item number on the check. but the check has cleared and I called them and they said it would ship friday or today (monday). Just want to know if I will get a confirmation when it is shipped.

probably 2 inches. we sell the injen 1.6L.
the injen 1.6L is 2" ?? cuz im sure its the same diameter since it has to connect to the same part of the intake manifold

Got mine on last night. YEAH!!! I love that sucking noise. It has been years since I had a CAI on any of my cars so I have missed that noise. I am just wondering what direction everyone else put the rubber tube from the TB, I put the long side on the side of the TB. I don't really hear anything different while driving. But maybe thats because my exhaust over powers the sound up front, Or its just because I am in the car,

yeah you are just overpowering it with your exhaust, it's a beautiful sound.. i have absolutely no desire to get an exhaust system now because the sound is just right, I don't want it to be louder. If I could get an exhaust system that wouldn't be louder but would perform better, now that I'd get.

I want exactly the same thing, a quiet exhaust with performance.
I am still looking for it.

The MSP Exhaust is pretty quiet. I just got it installed this week and it sounds great. Its louder than the stock, but not as loud as those others ones that many get.

Yes I have the msp catback exhaust on my p5 (and the ebay cai). A great combo if you're not looking for a loud exhaust. The ebay cai and msp exhaust seem to be made for each other. It's just a little deeper than stock and it does add a little more power since the catback piping is larger...

How much does a set of MSP exhaust cost?
Usually around $150...and then with installation being another $100-$150. I'm sure you can find somebody on the forum willing to sell you theirs...

Sounds like a real good deal to me.

How much bigger is the MSP exhaust diameter than the P5 stock one?
