door switch wires location?

Does anyone know how the dome lights light when the doors are opened? I'm hooking up Mazda 5 blue LED sill plates that light when the doors are opened, and want to tap into the wire that controls the lights coming on, but I'm not sure where it may be. I was thinking of trying hooking into the lights, but am a little nervous about damaging the airbags in the A pillar. I don't see any plunger switches like in older cars that I have owned. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Does yours have the under dash lighting option, like down by the drivers feet? Mine does, that is where I WILL tap into for my lights etc. If not, I know it sounds silly, but search the forums here for the wire diagram thread, there should be a link to the page that will allow you to download the wire diagram, well at least I think there is. You could go around the dash up the a pillar and to the dome lights on the roof, by the rear view mirror? No? (shrug)

You know, I'm not sure. I know you can add some pretty cool LEDs in Japan. I will look. I've decided that I'll try the dome lights, as the airbags don't seem to be an issue. Thanks.
