Door Locks

Has anyone figured out how to turn off the automatic locking door locks? When I unlock the car with the key fob, the doors will automatically lock again if I don't open the door within a 30 sec or so. I'd like to turn off this "feature." The dealership said its not possible, but I'm not willing to give in that easily.

Built in security feature that would require an electronics tech with intimate knowledge of the 5's on-board systems.

Wait till you are closer. The manual claims a range of 8 feet to discourage owners from unlocking from further out

Never had a car w/a fob that doesn't relock after 30 sec of inactivity. Murphy says that if you disable the feature, your significant other will be alone at night at the mall, will unlock the doors, fiddle around with the merchandise bags outside the car while some stranger makes an attempt to get in the now unlocked vehicle. Live with the minor inconvenience for safety's sake IMO.
