I had to change a tire yesterday and noticed an empty form in the styrofoam on the right side. Looks like I might have lost something. What would go there? It’s a 2020 CX-5 Signature.

That's probably where the deck tie-down hooks used to go on older models. I believe Mazda stopped putting them in the boot after port delivery was completed because they didn't want them used as tow hooks due of liability issues.

Not the tie-down hook though. That goes in the top red circle in the pic above.

I think that part is for the center hold down to allow carrying a spare ( non donut) tire with a wider rim.
 
That bolt shown in post #4 is what Mazda calls the "flat tire hold-down bolt" on vehicles equipped with a subwoofer in the spare tire. I guess because the flat tire/wheel would be wider than the spare tire, this longer bolt is necessary to secure the wheel/tire removed due to being flat.
