crazy Remote issues

Recently whn I go to unlock the doors..they lock within 2 sec...to get in car u have to open door quickly...if you dont open fast enuff I have to keep hitting unlock on remote.

Driving me nuts..

normal for mazda's as far as I know. my '02 ES, '03 MSP, and girlfriends '06 MZ3 all do that. probably just a anti-theft feature.

do I have to reset? this happens every time I try to get in my car.

have you tried clicking the unlock button twice and see if it still locks right away? all mine take approx. 5 sec. before it locks.

I suppose it is right about 30 sec. when i'm not paying attention it seems a lot quicker. lol

Really? Mine re locks after 30 seconds. That's what the manual says is normal.

Maybe try this,... It might reset everything.

that may solve it but if not try disconnecting both pattery posts for awhile (hours) and reconnect, the brain may need a hard reset.

Leave your interior light on if you disconnect the battery,... it helps drain any capacitors in the system,... be ready for a crappy idle when you reconnect, the car will need to relearn everything.

My remote acts all weird at times and doesn't seem to make sense,... However,... I believe it's part of the security system and it is monitoring your use and activity and interference from other remotes, in an effort to help keep your car from being stolen.
