I have a weapon R intake and header system and have some questions about install. There is a sensor on top of the filter box where do i put that? I believe another one before the box also the maf can I put it anywhere on the intake system or just right before the filter? The header is gonna remove the first cat is that gonna be a problem? I see that the o2 sensor comes before the cat and on the header there is a spot for it.... please let me have your input thanks.

The MAF goes after the air filter. If you take off the top of the air box, look inside and you will see a little metal tab sticking down from the top. It's protected with a plastic mesh screen so you can't touch it. I used a MAF cleaner and I poked the tip of the straw through the mesh to clean the MAF.
Removing the first cat is going to be an issue. The first O2 sensor will go in the header where they have a bung for it. The second O2 sensor is going to expect the exhaust gases to have passed through the first cat so it's going to throw a CEL.

You can get an o2 extension cable from the MSP and weld in a bung behind the second cat..no cel
.

Re: the loss of first cat (garbage can) when running a header.

I have a 4-2-1 header on a custom Magnaflow exhaust system. Where the second cat was installed OEM, I have a minicat of about 10" in length, came w/bung for O2 pickup. That's it. Car just passed Colorado emissions test with extremely low numbers, way less than 10% of max permissible in every category. Cost me around 2 Benjamin's installed.

Thank you guys ! As for the sensor I was talking about the temp sensor on the side of the air box? Does that have to come before the maf sensor? Thanks for the help!

I knew someone would ask one day. Can't find it in my P5 folder and it's been so long ago that I can't remember. Sorry. Perfect fit though and no problem with bung connector as some guys have had.

The IAT sensor is in the airbox after the filter element. It's not really before the flow of air before the MAF, so as long as it is after the air filter, the intake air will hit both about the same time anyway.

I found out the intake was never originally from a protege5 so I had to do some modifications throughout the intake system. Ill take pictures when its finished thank you everyone for your input.
