Check engine light after installing lighted door sills?

I installed my lighted door sills last night. I blew a fuse once because one of the wires touched the other. I replaced that ASAP. But today when I go out for a drive, my CEL(check engine light) comes on. Any ideas on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it depends on the type of scanner they have. I work at advance auto parts and the scanner we use on customers cars won't read my car, but we sell one that will read our cars.
