Hello and welcome. We'd like to keep this place somewhat tidy and ask that how-to request be created under the relevant subsection for discussion and keeping this section for actual how-tos. Moving thread.
2)Here’s how the front pump looks like. It is held tight by the seal. Best way to get it out is to use a small and thin/flat head screw driver and push in the seal at one side while tugging out the other. Keep doing this in a circle motion. Getting it back in might seem hard but keep at it and it will go in. Use the small and thin/flat screwdriver to push the seal in. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...hee-under-my-hood!-(bad-windshield-wash-pump)
There are two pumps (front/rear) which are identical in function BUT have different bases for their respective wiring harness. Make sure you get the right pump. I was sent the wrong pump and had to go to a local dealer to get a quick replacement that cost almost double. Skip the generic pumps b/c I’ve read that they ALL suck and do not provide enough pressure. Stick with OEM –doesn’t cost much more if you buy from an online vendor. I use http://parts.arlingtonmazda.com/ but there are others.
