Cargo Liner for Dog

2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring
Just got my 2016 CX-5. I have the OEM cargo liner (with the cups) but ultimately looking for some kind of cloth liner that will cover the area, especially the back of the backseats and will have enough play to go with the seats, so to speak, when they are laid down. Love the black interior of the car, but our corgi sheds, so would like to keep the hair off the seats.

Does anyone have some economical suggestions or maybe the measurments of the cargo area with seats up and down?

That looks nice. Was looking at some universal ones that were cheaper and quilted, but atleast you know this one fits. We have a Corgi, so he has to be lifted in and out of the car. Question...how hard is it to take out and put back in? Do you leave it in permanently?

I leave mine in permanently, as there is no real reason to remove it. The seats go up/down with ease with it installed. You do have to remove the headrests to install/remove it. I found mine to be a bit "tight"... as in I couldn't get the corners pockets of the liner in the tailgate area to go over the floorboard to help keep it in place. But I found it isn't really necessary to get the flaps over the corners as designed.

However, I also have one of these for when I bring just a single dog for a ride (we have 3, all over 65 lbs). I leave this installed too. It slides a tad on the leather seats, but since you have a Touring I don't think you'd have that issue.

Thank you for that!

Thank you for the link and picture! That is a good looking throw, and I will have to figure out the sliding issue on my leather/ette seats!

I had tried one of those metal units(like a barrier type affair), but to keep the 2 "Franken Puppies" caged up in the cargo area, the unit would have deformed the headliner where it has pressure applied!

One thing worse than an Australian Shepard puppy is TWO of them! LOL

Thanks but......No Ebay for me!

I decided that I could live quite well without them and closed my account. I usually can find the same item on another site. Actually I had become an active seller.

Thanks again,

Another vote for the Mazda soft cargo liner. I combined it with the rubbery cargo tray as well (installed liner then tray on top).

Wasn't too bad to install, I had a problem getting the little pockets to go over the floorboard corners at first. Made sure I had all excess slack out of the back seat cover (the part that velcros) Then lifted the floorboard so I could get the flaps over the corners and laid it down while holding the flaps in place. The liner stretched a little and now it's perfect. Thought it would pop off but it stretched out nicely.

I also got https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) for the back seat. Can be used in hammock fashion (helps keep fur out of the floorboards) or not. I do wish it covered the sides of the seats as well. I got this one so that I can fold all the individual seats down without removing it. It stays in place pretty well, has a grippy backing.

So now I'm pretty much puppy proof (yippy)
