That cap requires another component, inluded in the cost, and it was going bad in older models. I don't know of this to still be a problem.

An old friend of mine had 6 MMATS 15"'s with 3 D50 amps in a nissan pickup. The box took up the whole bed and was fiberglass reinforced.I personally witnessed him beat a Kenwood sponsored competition vehicle in an SPL contest. I laughed my ass off 'cause the guy in the Kenwood truck kept crying about it and wanted a rematch, he got his rematch and his dignity stole when he was beat again!Oh by the way this contest was 4 years ago and my buddy hit 162.7 db. Yikes!!

It all depends on the contest. SOme leagues had compeditors hitting 170 5 years ago, others seem to be just hitting that now

No argument here, just had to put my $.02 in.
His truck was and is the hardest hitting vehicle I've heard.
Keep in mind I've been out of the car audio scene for a few years.
