can i just put a fmic on a bone stock msp?

If he tries to run the dual set-up it cost goes up. It's cheaper to just relocate the MAF to the Cold pipe and run the BOV on the hot pipe. Plus some someone with zero experience and looking to learn ZERO about the car he is about to....IMHO **** up. It's his safest bet.
We all know how Fickle the MSP is and how much time we all spend under the hoods of our cars working s*** out. one vac leak and this guys going to have a s***. Wishing he studied up on the MSP before tinkered.
OP: I know you want a Yes or No answer.
Yes a FMIC fits.
Yes you can run a BOV
Yes a used MAM kit is the best...That's what I run
Yes your better off finding a used kit on the for sale section.
Yes you will run into problems
NO. your Mechanic friend will not have the answers unless he's spent a fair amout of time on THIS forum studying THIS car for you.
Yes you will be back asking why the **** the car is running like s***
Yes We will all tell you to search and some of us nicer folks may actually post up a link for you to read so you can be educated. Call it "Forced Education"
No after telling us you don't care to study will we spoon feed you the info.
Yes I wish you the best of luck with your build.
Take care of that car. They are very quirky, and tempermental. Not really a car for someone that wants Bolt and go performance. That would be a Honda.
These cars were lacking in some aspects of the design sector. There are many things that Mazda did not do correctly and we here have spent years fixing and improving on them. Most local mechanics have no clue what to do with some of the parts that came on the MSP. or why it was placed that way. Even my local "Mazdaspeed" dealer didn't know what the MSP was or that it came with a turbo

^ Wow Zuku! That should almost be stickied for every newb to read! lol I'm sure they'll/he'll still be back saying WTF even after reading something like that and still having problems. +1 to everything you just said though!

why do people freak out about having to remove the crash bar? if u get in a front end collision its gonna mess up ur car anyways! DONT HIT ANYTHING

because I prefer to live through a catestrophic crash... using your mentality, crash safety standards are pointless.

and another +1 to zuku's post. perfectly said.

so you guys are saying someone that has ran alot of bovs couldnt help me put a bov/bpv setup on my car?
and is there a how to or a thread that i could learm a little off of so that i know hes doing right?

yes. as has been said, do some reading... you're even in the right section. find the "how to kill your turkey" thread...

here another good starter thread for you: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123677826

Also, to the OP.

I would get some sort of fuel/timing control before modding your MSP too far.

And he better get more than $300, unless he has fabrication skills and nice equipment in his garage. This thread is pointless (smash)

Sometimes its the other guy's fault. And when your insurance adjuster sees that you removed a significant piece of the frame, your ass belongs to him...

I know it may be a little late to post now, but last time I checked... and ran a vented BOV on my MSP... Forge makes a nice kit for the MSP and it is cheap. It goes on to the "stock everything" and it works good. No stalls, no big pssssssh at low rpm's, but when you are on it, sounds good. Samco sport makes a similar one too with a dual diaphragm which allows you to bolt up just like the forge. Both work on a completely stock MSP, no issues, no stalls etc. I saw the Forge one on protege garage for like $139. If you want sound... there you go. Cheap and will work great. No turks unless you get an aftermarket intake. A little kid could install the Forge MSP kit.

How so? Any sort of proof to this claim, or are you just regurgitating misinformation heard elsewhere?

Lol it is true. We all know that the msp does not need a core that big. While it does look great, and it doesn't loose much throttle response with such a big core, I think that the msp will never need that much of a fmic. My MAM has never ever been heat soaked, Unless it was like uber hot outside, and its like 1/3 the size of the perrin. BTW Turbolife your kits are nasty. I love them.

so with that kit you posted for 140$...

the big part comes off of the cold pipe nipple where the BPV is currently, then the little nipple on the top of the BOV gets plugged in to your small vac line?

why will a CAI cause turkey? I get turkey bad. all i have is a CAI.. My vac line from my BPV is T'd to my break booster line... im sick of the turkey!!!
