If he tries to run the dual set-up it cost goes up. It's cheaper to just relocate the MAF to the Cold pipe and run the BOV on the hot pipe. Plus some someone with zero experience and looking to learn ZERO about the car he is about to....IMHO **** up. It's his safest bet.
We all know how Fickle the MSP is and how much time we all spend under the hoods of our cars working s*** out. one vac leak and this guys going to have a s***. Wishing he studied up on the MSP before tinkered.
OP: I know you want a Yes or No answer.
Yes a FMIC fits.
Yes you can run a BOV
Yes a used MAM kit is the best...That's what I run
Yes your better off finding a used kit on the for sale section.
Yes you will run into problems
NO. your Mechanic friend will not have the answers unless he's spent a fair amout of time on THIS forum studying THIS car for you.
Yes you will be back asking why the **** the car is running like s***
Yes We will all tell you to search and some of us nicer folks may actually post up a link for you to read so you can be educated. Call it "Forced Education"
No after telling us you don't care to study will we spoon feed you the info.
Yes I wish you the best of luck with your build.
Take care of that car. They are very quirky, and tempermental. Not really a car for someone that wants Bolt and go performance. That would be a Honda.
These cars were lacking in some aspects of the design sector. There are many things that Mazda did not do correctly and we here have spent years fixing and improving on them. Most local mechanics have no clue what to do with some of the parts that came on the MSP. or why it was placed that way. Even my local "Mazdaspeed" dealer didn't know what the MSP was or that it came with a turbo
