does anyone know if you have to trim the bump stops in the front srtuts when installing megan lowering springs.?

How much do the Megans lower the car? In short, typically yes. How much, if any, depends on what shocks you are using. Bilstein HD/Sports have internal bump stops.

They are more than just “bump stops” that prevent over compression of the shocks. They are technically called jounce bumpers and are either progressive (upside down triangle, stacked rings) or linear (cylinder shaped, stacked rings) in design, kind of like mini springs, to control the end threshold when the suspension enters max compression. Some are truly just bump stops. You can tell the difference by how long or short they are. Cutting the stock bump stop with lower springs will yield back some travel BUT the shocks have to be capable of handling the higher compressive rate AND you loose the progressive/linear (comfy) feel of the stops. You can get aftermarket bump stops too.

the megans lowered the car 1.75 front and back. the shocks are named SEN SEN from ebay. I just left the original bump stops when i changed the shocks.

I am sorry to tell you but you just wasted your money on those Sensen shocks. On my previous MZ5 I went through 2 sets on the rear each one lasting no more then 10k miles and the fronts were noisy by 20k miles. By the way, mine wasn't even lowered. So I'd give those shocks prob no more then 5k miles before they're out and start getting noisy.

Koni yellows are great shocks and work well with lowering springs. I'd recommend trying those next.

you guys are right about the Sen Sen shocks. they really suck. i guess you get what you paid for.
