But Brembo finally released their kit for both the 6 and the speed6 today. my girlfriend works there, so she let me know as soon as she got the email today.

330x28 1 piece rotor, 4 pistons calipers and all the hardware/lines

i already posted the specs, as far as pics, they are pretty standard for their 4 piston kits. you might be able to find the exact kit if you look at the RaceTechnologies.com website though.

and for OCCSCHEMGUY, i'm just throwin it out there. if you are just looking for a show upgrade, i'll sell you my Rotora's for 1k even, AND install em for you! you'll just need to replace the rotors at the end of this year i'd guess? but that would save a bit for ya!!!



lol. the reason i say that is i can't take my car to any of the Brembo functions (my girlfriend works there) because i have the Rotora's and ....yeah. the Rotora's have NEVER done me wrong, and i don't concider i'm "upgrading" to Brembo's, i just want to drive my car at their events we go to. that offer goes to anyone in socal

Most likely because ( loose number here) 75% of your actual braking capacity is carried by your front brakes.

This is true. Most rear brakes are more than sufficient, especially with the proper pads installed.

Not to dig sales or anything, but the fronts are more than sufficient with the right pads....

i don't think anyone said the stockers weren't fine? But if you take your car to the track, you'll see the BBK is a great improvment. not that you stop shorter, but the pedal feel and consistancy through the entire session is what the stock brakes can't do...even with pads. i've had the BBK on my car for a couple years, and quite a few track days, they have never let me down, not even at Willow Springs at 114* track temps!

Members on the other forum who were doing hot laps on a short track, autocross, etc. said that with good pads, racing brake fluid, SS brake lines and good tires... the stockers are plenty sufficient.

Anyone have these that can give some type of review on them? Im curious if they are for just racing purposes or if they do provide shorter stop distances. Mainly because it seems with the ABS the car doesnt stop as soon as I would like, not saying I think it should stop on a dime but if I can improve it then I am willing to pay.

i wouldn't expect huge gains on stopping distance on the street with any BBK on the car. the stock speed has one hell of a braking system for street performance....there aren't many cars in it's weight class that can match it.

the Brembo kit (or others) will help increase consistancy when put to the limit. hot days, track time, autocross.....they will perform the same as when you are driving down the street. where you will have to push a little harder and brake a little earlier in the same situations with the oem setup.

and clearance is a big issue. the only speed owner that i've talked to with the kit, didn't check clearance 1st and his wheels didn't fit. had to go with a new set of wheels (that didn't fit either when he got them, so a spacer was used).

most folks dont hit the limits of track pads with stock brake system to warrant such a big purchase..
unless of course theyre in it for the show...

If you can lock up all four wheels with the stock brakes, you are good.

Changing to a different pad for track use is usually all you might need. A BBK does not equal better braking ability simply because of the size difference.

We've done tests over and over with stock brakes and pads. A BBK often times does not imrpove braking performance, and sometimes even hurts it. Getting the proper pad material for your driving situation is the best way to go.

Tires will make the biggest difference in braking ability before pad material.
