About 3 months ago I was on the freeway with traffic and I had to hit my brakes hard enough for ABS to kick in. When it did pedal went to the floor but returned to normal operation after. About a month ago same scenario but in a parking lot but this time pedal remained spongy and with fade goin to the floor before resistance kicked in and brakes grabbed perfectly. I had a brake flush done and it cured the issue...for a month. This time no ABS but pedal suddenly did the same thing. This time I took it to Romero Mazda and they checked the entire system and found normal operation on all components and no leaks whatsoever. I again had them bleed the system but this time I also had them bleed the clutch hydraulics as well since they share the same reservoir. Pedal feel is back to normal but I'm concerned it is just a temporary fix. Fluid is brand new and topped off, no leaks at all from anywhere, and pads are still about 70% of life left on them for both front and rear. Has anyone here experienced this? If so, did you get it fixed and how? I suspect the master cylinder internal failure but I don't want to start throwing money at it blindly...although I may have to...
