Begi/FM -- Spool I.T.S. Dyno

Guys w/ the begi kit and the Spoolin kit....
Lets make an arrangement. Lets get our cars dynoed before Dec. 31st and post it.
I'm pretty sure there is alot of mp3,pro5,protege members out there that might be interested in seeing the results. Reply if you guys are in on it.

Let's do it. I'd like to see the power bands, etc. Decide on a common dyno type...ie dynojet, etc.

I will have to get my funds right 1st!

How phucked up is this:
The car shop that fixed me up phucked me! In order to pay for repairs, I left them a series of checks set to be cashed a pre-detrermined dates. My company had just switched to a different Payrol company, and something got messed up. I called them and had them hold off cashing a check for a day. When they did cash it, it was for the wrong date!! I guess someone found the right check a week later, and cashed that one too! That's about $850 gone! Well needless to say I had over $90 in NSF charges, and had to hold off on some bills. This week, my check for my insurance went through, and put me at a negative balance again due to phuckin NSF charges! I called the shop and talked to them about moving one of my last 2 check into January, and they don't want to go over Dec 31st. :wtf: The phucked up, and I have to take the hit....oh no,no,noooo! I understand that they extended my finace term over what then normally do, but THEY messed up. I have always made sure that the funds were there for them to cash my check, and this is the thanks I get! I am gonna call them today and ask them to move it due to their phuck up, and if they can't (won't) help me, then....

I believe we already know who's will come out on top.

Spoolin's isn't just the kit...He has timing control, etc.

I think what he was getting at is the actual kits that were sold. So his v a stock BEGI/FM kit.

What's the deal with DEc 31st? I was going to wait until I got my fuel resolved. That would be after the microtech. Call me crazy, but onthe dyno no holds barred, and if I'm running high boost at redline in each gear I don't want any possibility of something going wrong.

If you want to see stock FM dyno numbers go to thier site. If I remember right with stock everything on a new P5 they ran 170HP @ 6psi.

Plus, I'll be able to run boost as high as 9.5-10 psi which will mean higher dyno numbers.... If I can somehow come up with a little extra money I might buy the PDA dyno software for my laptop and dyno it that way. From what I've heard it's very accurate.

Right now with 3 insh exhaust, no cats, and at close to 8.5 psi I'm guessing I'd be around the 200 mark- but really I am just going off of what looks right on paper.

I've never done a dyno, but from what I've read its pretty harmless. I believe you only use one gear that is a 1:1 ratio (3rd?) and take that to redline. If you do this once or twice, you have little to worry about.

Chris

ahah Maybe so... I've just seen one too many cars blow up on the dyno. I'm an over protective father of my baby girl (car)

A healthy car will have no problems with a dyno pull. A sick car will.

i agree w/ keith... smp3000 how is ur car running right do u have problems when going into boost?

The whole point of this is to see how many ponies we will push out before the year is over.. That way by next year we can do another one after christmas. becuz if u ask me i have a pretty big x-mas list mostly for my car.
lets see what happens!
and this is to be a group knidof thing,
actual people that go on the forum we know not what someone statisticaly put on a website at FM.

There are no tricks or specially selected runs on the FM website. I should know :)

Keith

hey linuxracer dont worry about it man if u can't then maybe u can do it after x-mas or when ur finacial problems are solved. i'm kindof in the same situation w/ my credit cards.... I Hate Them!

Gottchya... Good Idea. I'll see what I can't Do. Prodyno out here does baseling dyno runs for $60.00... I'm interested in seeing what the spool stage 1 kit can push out.

I'm down to do it. Other than me and BlueMp3turbo, is anyone else in?

BTW.. My car is running great. Just super rich to compensate for my raise in boost.

I'd trust the FM stuff since all those with its and the BEGI kits are still running. There not the type to BS stats. If they can hit those numbers then so can you.

I guess I will tread to the dyno one more last time just to see it will put up before the whole "transformation" project

We have some dyno stats from the stage 3 kit.
We will scan these shortly and put them up on our site but they look hella good!!

At 6psi our best run was 197.4whp and 204lbs/tq at the wheels.
We will also post the results of the stage 1 dyno on the site as well. Hopefully we can get this done in the upcomming week.
Terry

Here is one of dyno tests.

Wow, those are great numbers!!! But please remember that whatever other mods you have done (exhaust/cats) should be posted so that potential buyers of the kit will know what to expect out of their car(s). Now if these stats are comming from a stock MP3 retaining both cats and it's original exhaust... Then tell me to shut the %$$% up. heh :) I know that the FM guys did their dyno test at 6psi but it was on a bone stock P5 with only like 500 miles to it's credit.
