Automatic transmission shifts up too quickly

This is my first Mazda 6, and so I am not sure if this is normal. Just driving around town it seems to always shift up as soon as it can to fifth gear. It will down shift just fine as you stop at lights or stop signs, but i think it is kind of odd that it runs around in the highest gear most of the time. It seems to have plenty of power and I don't think it is a problem. The manual shift works fine also, but I sometimes forget to shift up. What do you think is this normal?

What town are you in? I'm in Tacoma and if you want, I can see what it is to see if it is normal.

It is fairly normal to have the trans run in the higher gears, but if it is shifting too quickly, you might need a service.

PM me with your info and maybe we can meet up and I can see what is wrong. If I can't help you, I will have Terry, my transmission person see what is going on.
