Ive only seen people use 3 kinds of gauge pods. The A-Pillar type, and the one over the steering column. And the custom ones in the CD pocket under the HU. I was looking for something different as none of those really appeal to me. Has anyone used any of these kinds yet?

You can click on the link, hit "edit" then delete them yourself;)

...I don't know anything about those gauge-pods, sorry.

I know they dont fit :) Im sure the WRX one wont either. I was just seeing if anyone used anything like this or had something custom done to the same effect.

some of the pods are good ideas, i'd like a whole new ins cluster, one of the ones in the SCC a few months back!! :D

yeah i was looking for a dash mount pod like that universal one a month back but never found what i was looking for. i might just have to use the a pillar pod from autometer. i don't feel good about that.

afaceinthecrowd,
I found a bunch of the dash mount universals on ebay, i just did a search for gauge pod and dug through the 6 pages, there were a few different styles. Im debating getting one, and seeing of a shop around here can mold it on to the dash so it looks not so universal :P

i found those too but they didn't appeal to me. i'm sorry if i'm being picky, but i'm very particular when it comes to my car. i haven't looked for a while, but those pods only come with 52mm holes. if i use a dash mount, i'm gonna use 60 mil. if i use an a pillar its gonna be 52 mil.

I'll agree, im very picky thats why I don't want to go with an A-pillar, not that there is anything wrong with them, it just dosen't appeal to me. I'm not sure what I want to do, I'll have to see if I can find a shop to do something custom for me.

Here's an idea i just thought of...
You see the Subaru WRX guage pod? Well, instead of mounting it in the center of the upper dash, mount it flipped over on the roof, infront of the rearview mirror. It will look like a guage from an airplane and i think the coolness factor is 11/10.

Factionality, well it would be near useless. Imagine trying to view your boost psi when your hitting near redline in 4th gear. You wouldn't want to look away that far to see what kind of boost you running. :D

But that would be COOL!
Awesome for a co-pilot or rear passenger.

Thats quite a neat idea, but yeah, FUNCTIONALITY :) would be a -1/10 factor while coolness is 11/10 :) I thought also taking out my drivers side ac vent would be cool to stick a gauge in there, but then I love my precious vent :\ So even though it might be neat, Im not sure how well it would work, losing a vent and all.
