anyone recently sell or trade-in their 2012 M5? What'd you get for it?

'12 Mazda5 Sp 6MT (traded in on T&C)
An upcoming move from Milwaukee to Houston has me shopping for an automatic-transmissioned replacement for my 2012 (bought new in Oct 2011) M5 6-sp with 26,500 miles.
I always like the 2011+ Dodge Grand Caravans/Chryslet T&Cs but bought the M5 in 2012 mainly because it was big enough and could get a manual trans. It's been great and good fun around here but now I could use more space, and if you've ever been to Houston you'll understand why I won't be able to live with a stick there...

I've had several dealers quote me trade-in prices, from $12,000 to $14,000. The one at $14k has a really loaded (awesome brown leather, back-up, nav, power doors, sat-rad, etc) 2011 T&C for $24k with 10k miles that I'm going to see on Monday. A bonus is that with a trade-in I'd see a tax savings of ~$725 bringing the effective trade-in value to $14,725. This seems pretty good to me, as KBB reports that a 2012 M5 w/ 26k in "Very Good" condition should be worth ~$14,900 as a private party sale. Interestingly they suggest the same price for an auto M5, but that has a lot to do with location I imagine.

If the T&C deal on Monday falls through I may decide to list it privately, and would appreciate feedback on what you think I should list it for and hope to get.
It really is in top notch condition, only mods are Miata leather shift knob and a wheelskins leather steering wheel wrap. Comes with WeatherTech front matts and a nice set of rims with winter tires.
thanks!
Kurt

Guess no one needed to sell their 2012 yet but me LOL

Well it's been fun driving 26k miles, and exchanging stories and ideas here on the forum but as of last night I'm no longer a member of the M5 owners club :(

Traded her in on a 2011 T&C and yes I'll miss the M5's size, light weight and manual transmission at times but knowing Houston roads and traffic there won't be many of them :~
The dealer gave me $14k (+$750 tax savings) for the M including the set of snow tires and rims (bought secondhand for $350) and Weathertech front mats. This was by far the best of 4 trade in quotes (others were $11.5k, $12K, AND $12.5K)
After driving the T&C home 120 miles last night the trip computer said 27mpg but when I filled it back up it worked out to 24.5mpg. They may not have totally filled the tank though so will be checking out of curiosity.
You can sure feel every one of the T&Cs extra 1000lbs around bends or coming to a stop but it very nice to have an extra ~6" of elbow room so I'm not constantly bumping into my wife, built-in navigation, bluetooth, satellite radio, back up cam with cross path detection, blind-spot warning, power doors, etc. And it's SO much quieter at highway speeds.... guess I really am getting to be an old man :P

cheers all and happy motoring in your Mazdas!!

Kurt

If you were in NYC, I would've been interested in your M5 manual. As it is, I'm thoroughly jealous of the contents of your garage. A CR-X and a Ferrari? Holy crap, dude!

That's exactly what I was going to say. With those two toys in front of your new T&C who needs a MZ5?

Well I can't fit many RC planes, dogs, or people in either of those so the M5 got a lot of use!
Thanks acb, clearly I have a thing for sporty 80's cars. :P
I'll be selling one of them before our move to TX, just can't decide on which to keep...

Made up this virtual test drive of the CRX but haven't officially listed it for sale on RedPepperRacing, HondaTech, Bringatrailer etc.

Gen 1 CRXs in this condition are rarer than Ferrari 308s.
