- '12 Mazda5 Sp 6MT (traded in on T&C)
An upcoming move from Milwaukee to Houston has me shopping for an automatic-transmissioned replacement for my 2012 (bought new in Oct 2011) M5 6-sp with 26,500 miles.
I always like the 2011+ Dodge Grand Caravans/Chryslet T&Cs but bought the M5 in 2012 mainly because it was big enough and could get a manual trans. It's been great and good fun around here but now I could use more space, and if you've ever been to Houston you'll understand why I won't be able to live with a stick there...
I've had several dealers quote me trade-in prices, from $12,000 to $14,000. The one at $14k has a really loaded (awesome brown leather, back-up, nav, power doors, sat-rad, etc) 2011 T&C for $24k with 10k miles that I'm going to see on Monday. A bonus is that with a trade-in I'd see a tax savings of ~$725 bringing the effective trade-in value to $14,725. This seems pretty good to me, as KBB reports that a 2012 M5 w/ 26k in "Very Good" condition should be worth ~$14,900 as a private party sale. Interestingly they suggest the same price for an auto M5, but that has a lot to do with location I imagine.
If the T&C deal on Monday falls through I may decide to list it privately, and would appreciate feedback on what you think I should list it for and hope to get.
It really is in top notch condition, only mods are Miata leather shift knob and a wheelskins leather steering wheel wrap. Comes with WeatherTech front matts and a nice set of rims with winter tires.
thanks!
Kurt
