... hood scooped a M5 (Premacy) before?

I'm thinking of doing it just for shins and giggles (shady)

HERE IS ... JUST AN EXAMPLE:

LINK

I'd get it the same time I get a front lip and rear skirt, that way paint it all at once.

I see lots of those (add-on fake scoop) at walmart.. and hence will make the mazda5 look cheapo. But if you make it functional - ie. cut a hole in the middle of the hood ... lolz. maybe it is ok. might make the engine cooler. :).

I was thinking the same, and / or feed that sir down to the engine... etc.

It'll be functional all right, It'll force cold air down onto the engine. Also, after you turn the car off, that hot air from the engine will be vented out, it'll keep the hood from going through years of heat torture.

Remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

While you may make it functional, Sarge, to the rest of Okinawa, you will be just another poser along with the Cavalier Z24 boyz :)

Functional is being a poser? That is like being almost pregnant? Right? LOL!

I totally agree with what you're saying, stickers and rims and window tint don't make Z28's, Mustang's, and Mazda 5's / Premacy's go any faster (burnout) they are all slow ass cars, he he.

Oh oh, it reminds me of guys with big muscles, all those muscles and can't break the law and snap somones neck when ever you feel like it, (pow)

Anyhow, it'd be a lot of work for so little, it's hard trying to be original in the land of 'outside the box' ...

I agree, It's really funny to go back to the USA and see, 100's of thousands of cars and trucks that are 100% stock I'm like... huh? (huh) (nuts)

So any suggestions on modifications that 'look cool' and are 'functional' ?

Some of us have a similar reaction when we see modifications to perfectly functional new vehicles. For me, it's something along the lines of: I spent half of what that guy paid for his wheels and tires, but on a 3600-mile, three-week-long camping trip with my family, yet my fenders don't rub, there are no new rust starter holes in my car, my lights don't blind on-coming drivers, and I have no check-engine lights on.

Another reaction I have is along the lines of what I think when I see a guy on a dressed-out Harley -- oh look, that guy spent $35k to be "different", but he looks just like every other guy on a Harley.

All I want is more bass out of the silly Mazda 5 factory stereo...

It's still fun to see what some people do to their vehicles.

I'm looking at one of those 'in-coil' air suspension bags. The kind you insert middle of the rear coil springs and you pump air into it. Useful in one of those rare cases when we go for a long drive with 4 adults and 2 kids plus cargo. Just to maintain the level.

I can't seem to find the thread (with Google or the forum's search engine) but I remember a forum member posting a tangential comment that Air Lift bags from the front springs in a 90s-ish Ford Ranger or Explorer fit in his rear coil springs -- and worked. I think there may have been some uncertainty to exactly which vehicle they belonged, because they were sitting in his garage for some time. If you can search better than I, you should be able to find the reference on this forum.

Don't go with anything that just sticks on. If you really what a hood scoop how about using the center section of a new Mazdaspeed 3 hood. It would be alot of work but it would look kinda cool.
