would deleting the intake resonator on the p5 help power at all? if so i need to know where it is, i get conflicting data when searching, some say driver fender well, some say under hood near front

Is it going to add power? No. It barely makes a sound difference on our cars when its removed. There are 2 pieces. One is held on by 2 bolts just above the radiator. Its dead obvious where it is. The 2nd part is below the front of the air box. Its held on by 1 bolt and clipped into the elbow of the air box. If you can't find it you must be blind.

I personally have these removed as they just get in my way, especially the large piece being the actual intake opening. I took the resonator bits off and flipped the elbow on the air box so its facing the ground, which is the same design as the mazdaspeed protg stock intake, the elbow is just different.

ok, my impression was you had to remove fender plastic in wheel well to get the bottom part out, and very useful article, i am just going to cut the grill plastic part near the intake hole to allow more air in. thanks to you both

No point in doing it at all. Does nothing. Doesn't make it louder. Doesn't make it faster just wastes time
