advice for ems solution

ok so i have the ssafc but it runs 10's at WOT , im looking to go leaner than that because im bogging down at WOT. a performance shop in st louis told me to buy an aem standalone and have them wire it up and they said uni chip was a piece of s***. so my question is, which ems solution should i get for under $1000?
 
how exactly would i go about leaning out my maps? i tried setting my ssafc to all 11's just to see what it would do and the car didnt even run , it started but didnt run and engine light came on for low maf voltage
 
I use the mpi tuner so I'm not sure about the ss software but you don't just put all one number in. Reload a base map and start with your idle and kind of linearly add numbers in so you start rich, data log while driving around and make adjustments. Don't go romping and lean out too bad till you start to dial in your tune. The mpi has on the fly tuning so I have my gf man the laptop and change values as I get feedback from the aem wideband. I don't know if the ssafc has on the fly tuning or not or wideband input so just be safe so you don't mess your stuff up.
 
Read up on tuning the ssafc in the ssafc map library thread. There are quite a few people that have uploaded maps that can be a good starting point.
 
I already have loaded different maps onto my ssafc, I've tried all different ones and I have the same issue every time. If I could make my afr leaner that would be ideal
 
What mods do you have one the msp? How does it run other than the running rich? You might have a totally different issue than the ssafc.
 
Ebay Turbo manifold, idles perfect slightly bouncy idle I i notice weird things, aem wideband , catless corksport exhaust, fmic, hard pipes maf relocated, vta bov,boost guage, brand new coils plugs and primary o2. No cel, but the 2nd o2 has the cel eliminator, and the wires on the 2nd o2 close to the sensor has some showing wire but idk. I just replaced the wastegate, and this problem didn't happen as often until I replaced it , now it's all the time , and I also put a newer and exhaust manifold gasket and turbo exhaust gasket. I did a sea foam test and there was some smoke coming out of the new gaskets, just a little but still was smoke
 
Dude you have to learn how to use the AFC, you haven't even begun to tune the car.

Did you make sure you properly loaded the MAP on the AFC? It took me a while to figure out how to properly connect my laptop and to write the data to the ECU (AFC).
