A new engine that doesn't want to stay on

Doesn't the ssafc alter the voltage from the maf to the ecu to adjust how much fuel it sends? If not explain how your doing any tuning to add or take away fuel

EXACTLY, it alters the voltage from both the MAF AND O2 when they're connected, which I've said I've bypassed and hooked up directly to the PCM instead.

Here's the picture so you can see what I'm talking about. It's an easy plug and play to either hook it up to the SSAFC or just leave it stock.

if I read this correctly, he removed the SSAFC MAF and o2 wires from the stock harness and wired the stock harness back together to eliminate the possibility that the afc is causing the leaning out. As long as those wires are not connected, it is impossible for the afc to alter any maf or o2 signals. He can leave the power, tach and vac lines hooked up. They don't alter anything. So obviously he is troubleshooting. Im pretty sure he wouldn't go driving around with it like that. I don't understand why you ask the question tweety. What's the point in having a piggyback that's not doing anything? My question is, what's the point in taking the ssafc out and resetting the ECU as you stated in post 31? You would get the same result whether you remove the unit completely or temporarily remove the altering signals from the equation.
