99+ 1.8l / 01+ 2.0l Adjustable Cam Gears

Bought these with the intention of installing them when it comes time to change out my timing belt, but decided I don't want to deal with it. The car is getting old and crusty, and these are not worthy of that fate. Only ones I can find that are currently available sell for $399 from SR Motorsports.

These gears will fit any FS engine protege, which includes 99-00 1.8l Protege ES, 2001+ 2.0l Sedans, 2002+ Protege5, MP3, and MSP. Intake gear has screws for cam position sensor pick-up.

Is there any benefit to installing these on a stock motor?

If yes, would the ideal setting would move the peak gains lower or higher in the powerband?

in my opinion, the protege needs a little help up top. an intake, header, exhaust, MP3 ecu, VTCS removal, and these gears would do good to an otherwise stock motor. (modifications made in that order)
