2012 Mazda5 GT
Hey Everyone.

Just wanted to post up in the intro section and introduce myself. I found this forum a few months back, joined and checked in once in a while but never really posted anything until now. This is an awesome forum a great Mazda5 resource for info, tips, etc!

Great place to be with other fellow 5'ers who truly appreciate how fun and versatile this car can be. :)

Anyhoo, the basic 411 on the ride:

2012 Mazda 5 GT
Liquid Silver with about 2500 miles.
Purchased back in 8/12 for my wife's b-day.

The plan was to buy her the car she's always wanted(she loved the big van sliding doors on a small, easy to drive compact car feature) and leave her to it. But being that I am the one driving her around the majority of the time, I ended up falling in love with the 5 myself!:D

Needless to say, I somehow managed to persuade my wife that I could make the car even better than it already was(it's my modding sickness that rears its ugly head whenever we get a new car(laugh)).

And now, 4 months later, the 5 project has gone over budget, over kill and well..., over the top. Who says you can't have fun with a 'minivan', right...?

Looking forward to being a part of this awesome Mazdas24/7 Mazda5 forum and to hopefully help out and contribute useful info to it as well!

wow wicked 5! Doing the same thing after winter here to get rims painted and slight tint on the windows. Not sure about lowering it though since I dont want to void the warranty. Do you know if that will void the warranty on the suspension if you changed the stock springs to after market ones or coilovers? thx

Thanks ZoomZoom! I'm pretty sure the warranty won't be honored if you bring it in with the aftermarket parts. Thats why I always keep my OEM parts in case I need to make a warranty claim or end up selling the vehicle.

A mild drop with lowering springs shouldn't affect anything, though, so I wouldn't worry too much about that unless you're going with a full suspension swap with coilovers or air bags.

Looking forward to seeing what you got planned for your 5!(2thumbs)

Yeah, they're the Rx8 R3 19's. I originally had the Speed3 18's on it but the 19's fill out the wheel wells much better, plus they are a gorgeous gunmetal gray that perfectly accents the paint color. :)

I could go a bit lower if I wanted to but it's already a inch away from laying frame on the ground and it would require some cutting and hacking in the wells and mod's to the rear arms. I'm happy with the stance.
