I like the Shinsen combination - one of the local club guys traded his in to get a mazdaspeed last year. The year before he traded it - he had Bethania Garage (Hard Dog Roll Bars) specially powdercoat a rollbar to match the paint. It looked really sweet......still can't believe he traded it in......
Naked, my parents have a Shinsen Edition Miata. They had the original 1990.5 for like 14 years. That car was so much fun to drive. I had many adventures in it, including running from the popos a handful of times. I would always hit a curvy road and they would never see me again. Then two weeks after I bought my brand new 03.5 MSP they traded it in to help my sister buy a brand new Mazda 3. Then like a month after that they went out and bought a brand new Shinsen Edition Miata. Its nice looking but it doesn't have the balls that the original did. I've been trying to convince them to let me help them add some more horses to it but they are worried about voiding the warranty. And to conclude this story, my Dad went out a couple months after they bought the Shinsen and bought a brand new Mazda Tribute. So we got 4 brand new Mazdas in one year. It was a good year.
Mazda has gone kind of loopy with special edition Miatas over the last few years. They're not so special anymore when you make a ton of them every year for 5 years or so!
The Shinsen's are sexy, but they always seemed to pricey for what they were.
