2000 PROTEGE 1.6 What time is it????

Replaced Timing Belt engine Idles GREAT when you try to push it off Idle it dies. How do I time this engine???? RE-checked belt markets still line up??? No hissing or air leaks that i can find.... I see the timing marks on cover but how do you adjust without a Distributor to move????

You're off by a tooth probably. Either that or the crank position ring (behind the crank) is on backwards (i did that).

Nope never removed the Crank Position ring. Removed valve cover and Marks line up. It idles smooth. First thing I changed before diving into belt was the Crank Posotion Sensor AutoZone........

Check that there are no vacuum tubes loose and that all electrical connections are connected.

Call me dumb for asking, but have you tried resetting the ECU?

What brand of timing belt did you use? I got one off ebay and it was too tight and caused misfires... I would suggest OEM Mazda timing belt...
