I took my car to the trake 2 weeks ago for the frist time. The car is bone stock, just have k&n pannel filter and cherry bomb turbo 2 lightweight mufflers. My first two runs where s***.

run 1. t/c on no revs sleeping on the start and ran a 15.2 @96 mph

run 2. t/c on revs to 2000(bad idea) lugs at start ran 15.4 @96 mph

run 3. t/c off revs to 3500 launched like a bat outa hell ran 14.5 & 96 mph

I just put on the aem cai last week so im hoping the next time i can get it the high 13s

Lots of track threads coming out now! I'd say that's not bad at all for your first time at the track. Launching this thing is tough.

I've been wondering if I might get a better launch by going through the water box instead of avoiding it. A little bit of slip might help to get moving, instead of all 4 wheels grabbing the sticky launch surface at the tree and lurching/bogging forward?

pro drivers can get 13.4 with our cars stock.
so if you can break into the high 13's that'd definitly be an achievement!~

at least get a rear motor mount.... i forsee a broken rear diff housing too

don't launch with the dsc on, that begs for trouble and bogging. my guess is you are shifting to late. gotta shift at like 5800rpm unless you are tuned.

i'd turn TC AND DSC off when you are launching.
hold down the DSC button while you start your car to do this.

yap. when the car is on, the button only disables only the DSC.
when the car is off, hold it down while you hit the ignition and it keeps DSC along with TC off.

I know DSC is super invasive and will limite throttle, TC not as much but will still limit you.

I thought this was only with the Mazdaspeed3?

nope. all DSC/TC enabled mazdas.
lol, which is just 3s and 6s i believe, no idea about cx-7/9 and any car after 2010.
