11psi - Clutch can't handle the torque

Well, Spec calls my clutch a stage 3. If i want to reccomend the clutch, I'm going to be lazy and call it a Spec stage 3. If they want the info on it, they can go check it out.
Dana you lazy moderating bastard! :)

Yeah yeah. If someone asks me info, I'll give it, but "Spec Stage 3" rolls off the tongue easily.

And yes, I realize that "stages" are a relative term. I get annoyed when random people (outside of the community) ask me what stage my turbo setup is.

I will post it here as soon as I can! I am outta town at the moment and will call Beau at MAM when I get back.

Anyone have ANY information about this clutch? I am about to call MPNick and order my clutch, so I need to decide which to go with...

You can call Spec directly and buy one if you want. Beau hasn't gotten back to me about it yet but I bet he can get you one too.

I actually just checked some compressor maps... and by some rough estimation I'm good to about 20 psi or better on the 16G which is plenty for my plans.

No one has actually sheared a gear or twisted a shaft inside the tranny that I personally know of yet... so the driveshafts are already the weaker link as those HAVE been broken several times. Although supposedly te 460hp puerto rico P5 has torn up some gears... but that's a bit more power than anyone else is making... and he is dragging it all the time... soo....
Good new, It should hold!! (headbang)

civilised for a puck, it's certainly tolerable, but it's not quite as smooth from 0mph as the ACT was.
Interesting, I got the stage two because I was worried. Next time I need to replace, I'll look one stage higher.

I spoke with Beau earlier and the problem is on Spec's end. He has left messages by phone and email in hopes that they will get the info to him. Believe me, I will post it when I find out..

The reason a manual transmission can handle the extra load is that no amount of boost in second gear can match the force that the tranny has to endure in first gear with no turbo.

As long as you arent climbing to 10 Psi in first, you should have no problem.

Personally, I have yet to see over 6 Psi and that was at WOT to 6500 spinning. So...

After reading that, I drive normal for first and then hammer it in second. You should see the look on the kid's face when he thinks he's beat me off the line, and then I piss all over his car when I open it up.!!

well, I should be getting a Apex'I AVC-R soon, which can handle gear-based boost control....That should be nice to have my MP3 Programmed for 6psi in first, 8 in second, and 12 psi for 3rd 4th and 5th...That should be a bad ass step for the protege boost traction issue.....

I am really starting to believe that the only way we are going to get into the 12s is with progressive boost control, and the AVC-R is the way to go..Honestly, if that guy could drop a 13.1 running only 12psi and slicks, 14psi with progressive boost control should be in the 12s

Very Nice! (thumb)

The SZS943H will hold mid 400's (horesepower)and has a nice engagement but a stiffer than stock feel.
The SZS943F will hold mid 600's and has a nice engagement but a very stiff feel.Typically the H model will chatter slightly for the break-in miles.
Prices
SZS943H is $595
SZS943F is $669
Both of these clutches are sprung hub and are good street clutches once broken in.

Thanks,
Beau

And both of those clutches include "street discs"?

What material are they made out of?

Both can be considered Street Discs because they are sprung hub.
The H stands for Hybrid. One side of it is X-pad material and the other side(Flywheel) is kevlar.
