03 mp5 rattle

5 spd all stock. SOMETIMES when I accelerate ( mainly between 1st and 2nd gear ) I get a rattle only when driving I can rev it with the hood popped and can't ever hear it still need to replace 2 motor mounts but I don't think that's what it is. Any suggestions to what the rattle could be will be appreciated

If it's under load, then it's detonation.

I don't think it's detonation I just did the timing belt and water pump and it was doing to before and I run mid grade gas (just cause) and thanks I'll check out that link

Does it do it when on hills? Try lugging it up a hill in a high gear.
Also, see if a tank of premium stops it.
All i know is that arizona is hot and my car occasionally pings when super hot.

Also, the cat converter heat shields may be loose/rattling.

Idk about going up hills I don't really go up any lol i think it's a combo of that motor mount between firewall and block and the driver side mount and maybe heat shield as well I don't think it's from the motor all tho I will try and run prem fuel but why would it be detonating always change oil on time and it's usually still pretty clean I run synthetic blend timing is good plugs and wires have less than 10k miles it's been doing it for a while now

probably not pinging if it seems to drive fine.

Climb under the car and see if you can find anything loose.
