If you "accidently" down shift and over rev you obviously dont know how to drive standard nor do you know your RPM by gears.
You are wasting resolution by including RPM ranges you do not see period. This is vital especially with the 8x16 on the MPI. The tach on the gauge cluster is not accurate with the digital signal on the MPI. If the tach says 7000 its really closer to 6500.
