VW Diesel Golf on a German highway with no speed limit. The thing was shaking so much but the grin on my face was ear to ear.

No, it went into the archives at the TV station in TX. I'm now in Mississippi. It was in '93, so it would be hard to find. I usually save all that stuff. I've been up with the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, Fina and Red Baron stunt teams, as well. The '57 chevy stood out because it was instant speed on the ground. We passed 300mph within 4.5 seconds. I had to wear an asbestos suit and fold my arms over my chest so my arms wouldn't flail out and hit something.briand805 said:(pics)

Nope, airport runway. It was very cool. It was at an airshow at night. Before the high speed run, we would go along real slow and he would dump small amounts of fuel into the afterburners and it would make 2 big fire balls. Then he put the brakes on, revved the engines to 100%. Then we went full afterburner and released the brakes.....Bam! Later he told me in full afterburner we were burning 80 gallons of jet fuel per second!daedalus said:damn.... salt flats???
